New Deans Named for Engineering and Journalism Schools
|Mary Cunningham Boyce Appointed Dean of Columbia's School of Engineering and Applied Science

Columbia University President Lee C. Bollinger has announced his appointment of Mary Cunningham Boyce as the new Dean of the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science, effective July 1, 2013. Professor Boyce comes to Columbia after more than 25 years at MIT, where she is currently the Ford Professor of Engineering and Department Head of Mechanical Engineering.
|Steve Coll Appointed as New Dean of Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism

Columbia University President Lee C. Bollinger has announced his appointment of two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Steve Coll as the new Dean of the Graduate School of Journalism, effective July 1, 2013. Coll replaces Nicholas Lemann, who has served as dean since 2003.
Edward Said Professor of Modern Arab Studies Rashid Khalidi, won the 2014 Lionel Trilling Book Award for Brokers of Deceit: How the U.S. Has Undermined Peace in the Middle East.
Allison Lewko, assistant professor of computer science, was named to the annual Forbes 30 under 30 list in the science and health care category for her work designing encryption algorithms and keeping data secure.
Victor P. Goldberg, Jerome L. Greene Professor of Transactional Law, has been elected to the American Law Institute.
