Teachers College, Columbia University, will host a lecture by Nobel Chemistry Laureate Martin Chalfie on the inevitable role of failure in learning and on the importance of basic, foundational research. Hosted under the aegis of the Education for Persistence and Innovation Center (EPIC) at TC, Professor Chalfie's talk will inaugurate a lecture series endowed by the Yu Pang Lin Foundation as part of its first gift to an institution outside of China.
