The 2020 U.S. presidential election countdown has begun as preparations are underway this summer for the Democratic National Convention in Wisconsin, followed by the Republican National Convention in Florida. Unprecedented in American political history, the COVID-19 pandemic has become an important factor​,​ raising concerns for mail-in voting fraud and voter suppression, while posing a significant threat to safe and fair elections.
