Triple Jumping Into Commencement and Beyond

Columbia University is celebrating the Class of 2020 by highlighting the achievements of some of our amazing students. Meet Maryam Hassan, a Middle Eastern Studies major, with a concentration in anthropology, at Columbia College. The women’s track and field team captain, she is also an accomplished sports photographer for Columbia Athletics. She says these two roles give her a unique perspective from behind the camera. Down the road, Hassan hopes to help Columbia build its Arab Alumni Association.
