July 14, 2023

First ladies from eight African nations (Botswana, Burundi, The Gambia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, and Zimbabwe) participated in a multi-day executive education program at Columbia Mailman School of Public Health, in partnership with the Global First Ladies Alliance and the Organization of African First Ladies for Development. Featuring a visit by First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, the interactive sessions covered topics ranging from strategic policymaking to strengthening public health systems. The program builds on the Mailman School's decades-long work in Africa and around the world.
