Ahead of Climate Week NYC, we look back at one of Research Vessel Marcus G. Langseth's expeditions to the Galápagos Islands. R/V Langseth, owned and operated by Columbia's Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory and supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF), is one of just five ships capable of long-duration missions in extreme environments on Earth's oceans and serves as the national marine seismic facility in the U.S.
