The Obama Foundation hosted its first-ever Democracy Forum in partnership with Columbia University and the University of Chicago at the Javits Center in New York this week. The Forum brought together leaders from across Obama Foundation programs to explore issues critical to strengthening democracy. Columbia President Lee C. Bollinger kicked off the event with a brief speech touching on the future of democracy, free speech, and the responsibility of universities to do more to address the needs of our global society.
