Columbia's College of Dental Medicine (CDM) welcomed 84 Class of 2027 students at its White Coat Ceremony this week. The annual rite-of-passage ceremony, symbolizing the transition into the medical field, is especially meaningful because of its Columbia roots: the first full White Coat Ceremony, now practiced at schools around the world, was founded by the late Arnold P. Gold, professor of clinical neurology and pediatrics, and was held at Columbia's Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1993. Congratulations to our dental students!
