This Columbia Journalism School Graduate Plans to Report and Write About Race

Columbia University is celebrating its Class of 2020 by highlighting the achievements of some of its amazing students. Meet Stefan Sykes, a Columbia Journalism School graduate who hopes to report on difficult issues after learning so much about how to cover race through Professor Jelani Cobb’s “Covering Race” class. Sykes put his skills to the test when he questioned rapper and entrepreneur JAY-Z about his affiliation with the NFL at an African American and African Diaspora Studies Department event at The Forum in January 2020.
