Helping Veterans Transition Into Higher Education

November 11, 2019

Columbia University connected with the Department of Veterans Affairs to host part of their national school tour. The tour connected prospective students with veterans on campus to talk about the Harry Colmery Act and the Forever GI Bill, and how the GI Bill can help finance an education at schools like Columbia. There are approximately 700 veterans on campus, including undergraduate and graduate students. The University also provides assistance, such as counseling and job placement services, to help veterans transition from military to civilian life.
