REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS:
Community Based Participatory Research Scholars & Awards Program
Deadline: February 23, 2022
The Irving Institute’s Community-Based Participatory Research Scholars and Awards Program (CBPR Program) offers structured training and practical experience in developing academic-community research partnerships between Columbia University faculty and non-profit organizations serving Upper Manhattan and The Bronx.
The CBPR Program is a two-part program beginning with a ten session training course, Introduction to Community-Based Participatory Research, followed by a competitive one-year pilot grant of $30,000 funding opportunity. The Introduction to Community-Based Participatory Research course provides an overview of the fundamental concepts and components of CBPR methodology and acquaints participants with strategies for developing academic-community partnerships. The CBPR grant component supports academic-community partnered research projects that have the potential to apply for larger funding opportunities.
Interested applicants must apply as an academic-community dyad by the application deadline of February 23. The Irving Institute can assist interested faculty in identifying an appropriate community partner for interested faculty.
The CBPR Program is offered at no cost to all admitted participants.
