Never Forget

September 11, 2002 vigil at Columbia University

September 10, 2021

Two commercial planes flying into the World Trade Center is an image that most of us would like to forget. However, what memories should we cherish from that terrible day? The heroism of the first responders, the lives that were lost too soon, and the love and connection that New Yorkers felt for one another during that time are a few things that should never be forgotten.

This photo was taken at a vigil, on the steps of Low Memorial Library, for the victims of 9/11 on September 11, 2002.
