For the past week, Columbia's Class of 2025 celebrated their achievements through school graduation ceremonies, University Commencement, and beloved traditions like the lighting of the Empire State Building.
The Columbia University Commencement ceremony of the 271st academic year took place on May 21, 2025, marking the official conferral of 15,000+ degrees upon our newest graduates, who hail from all 50 states (plus Puerto Rico and Washington D.C.) and 100+ countries from around the globe.
