For the past week, Columbia's Class of 2025 celebrated their achievements through school graduation ceremonies, University Commencement, and beloved traditions like the lighting of the Empire State Building.

The Columbia University Commencement ceremony of the 271st academic year took place on May 21, 2025, marking the official conferral of 15,000+ degrees upon our newest graduates, who hail from all 50 states (plus Puerto Rico and Washington D.C.) and 100+ countries from around the globe.

And while rain may have fallen, spirits soared in joy for all that our graduates have accomplished. Our photographers were there to capture every unforgettable moment. Below, find a few selections from the most celebratory of days on Columbia's campuses.

Choosing only a few photos to sum up such a momentous week is no easy task—so for even more snapshots, head over to Columbia’s Instagram.

Be sure to follow Columbia’s social media channels to share how you celebrated, and use the hashtag #Columbia2025 to spotlight our brilliant graduates.
