You may know your New York City history, but few can beat Professor Ken Jackson, who literally wrote the book. For almost 40 years, Ken Jackson, the Jacques Barzun Professor of History, took students of his course, "The History of the City of New York," on a walking tour that later became a nighttime bike ride through the city.
